From the Airport
Taxi
Just pick a car from the arrivals and handle the driver the address: Rua Filipe Alistao 71, Faro. Expect to pay, perhaps, 12 Euros. The precise amount will change accordingly to several factors: time of the day, traffic, honesty of the driver. As a rule of thumb we advise our guests against using taxis. In general, in Portugal. Too many dishonest drivers out there.
Uber
Uber works quite well in Portugal. You might want to give it a try upon your arrival in the airport although it might be a bit messy to find your meeting point. Cost of the service should be no more than 8 Euros in normal circumstances.
Bus
Proximo is the name of the city buses. They do run a route from Praia de Faro, stopping in the Airport before heading to the terminal in the center of Faro. It’s the #16. Bus stop is right in front of terminal, across the street. The bus takes about 20 min to reach the bus terminal and from there, 5 minutes walking to our place.
Tickets are bought from the driver and cost 2,35 Euros. Find here a PDF document with the complete timetable (Portuguese only but should be understandable). See bellow how to reach us from the bus terminal.
By Car
You might want to look for our direction in the GPS / Maps software of your preference. If you don’t use one, perhaps you should use a traditional printed map and mark on it our address: Rua Filipe Alistão 41.
Parking in our street is not allowed but it’s usually OK to stop in front of the house to unload luggage. In a bad day all the space will be taken by other people’s cars but that doesn’t happen often.
Please note that we are on the first floor, over the restaurant. At the moment of writing it’s an Italian restaurant but it has been quite a volatile business so it might be something else when you visit. We share the entrance with the restaurant’s kitchen. Our door is on the right, in the small hall. There is a buzzer on the white wooden door.
Once you reach us, we will help you finding a proper parking spot. There are basically two options: looking for a nearby paying spot or go the the main parking lot which is for free but a bit far. It’s a pleasant 750 meters stroll through the old town.
By Train
If you use something like Google Maps of Maps.me you should look for directions to the following address: Rua Filipe Alistão 41. The closest route is 550 meters walking.
Otherwise, take a slightly longer route which is easier to follow: leaving the station, turn to right, walk for 450 meters until you reach a roundabout. Turn left on Rua 1 de Maio. Walk for another 150 m and turn left on our street, Rua Filipe Alistão which will be the fourth street on the left. It’s a total of 750 meters walking.
