The Old Charming House
Our Classic House, also known as Old Charming House, was built in the early years of the 19th Century. It has a residential area in the 1st floor and a restaurant – owned by someone else – and a shop in the ground floor.
It’s located in the historical center of Faro, walking distance from all tourist attractions.
The house is divided in two different areas. Like two apartments.
Once climbed the flight of stairs coming from the ground floor, one may turn to the right, the older part of the home, and will notice that much of the original 19th century atmosphere was kept, spiced up by a pinch of modernity. There, we have a living room and two bedrooms. And also our office and a kitchen, although the latter is private, for our exclusive use.
One of the bedrooms here has an en suite bathroom while the other is provided with an outside private bathroom which is next door to the room.
To the left there is another space with two further bedrooms. These can be booked independently but the whole area can be rented as a private apartment. It’s a duplex, with a double bedroom in the lower level and a twin bedroom in the upper level.
The Location
Our Old Charming House is located in the center of Faro. We are in a relatively busy street about two hundred meters from the marina but still out of the most touristic area. This means a good mix between local life beat and proximity to the core center of the town.
The Rooms and the Apartment
In the Old Charming House there are a total of four bedrooms. Two of in each wing.
The left wing can be rented as an independent apartment, featuring a small kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. Naturally, if we have bookings for one of the two bedrooms in the left wing we won’t be able to rent the apartment as such. Pretty much, first come, first served: if we have a booking for the apartment, bedrooms #1 and #2 are considered booked and unavailable. If we have a booking for bedroom #1 or #2 (or both), them the apartment is considered booked and unavailable. I hope you didn’t find this too confusing.
Bedroom #1
Double bedroom in the left wing. It’s decorated in tones of red and white. It faces the street and it has a window, so light is not an issue. However, as the window is located over the bed, it’s not that accessible to enjoy the street views and so. It has a shared bathroom, which serves a total of two bedrooms (#1 and #2). So it’s not likely that it becomes crowded or dirty. Note that guests are not allowed to use the kitchen existent in this part of the house unless the whole apartment is booked as such. Guests staying in this room will have access to the living room of the left wing.
Bedroom #2
Twin bedroom in an upper floor of the left wing. It’s the most quiet bedroom of the house. Actually, it’s very quiet. It has a window facing a small inner private yard. Guests will use a shared bathroom in the lower level. This bathroom is shared between guests of bedrooms #1 and #2. Note that guests are not allowed to use the kitchen existent in this part of the house unless the whole apartment is booked as such. Guests staying in this room will have access to the living room of the left wing.
Apartment
The left wing can be booked as an apartment, combining bedrooms #1 and #2 plus a living room and a small kitchen properly equipped. The living room features a small balcony facing the street and a TV with some TV channels (feel free to connect your laptop to it though a HDMI cable). There is one bathroom located in the main floor. Note that bedroom #2 is on an upper floor).
Bedroom #3
This is a double bedroom in the right wing of the house, which may considered the main one. It feature an ensuite bathroom. It’s not spacey but it’s relatively quiet as it faces an inner yard of the house. Guests will have access to the main living room of the house.
Bedroom #4
Another double bedroom in the right wing of the house. It has a window facing the street and features an external but fully private bathroom. There is a desk and a TV dedicated to Netflix (no TV channels). Guests will have access to the main living room of the house.
